Calling All Unhealthy Recipes!

In honor of WORLD KIDNEY DAY on MARCH 8, the National Kidney Foundation is teaming up with lifestyle expert B. Smith for a recipe makeover contest. Turn in your calorie-laden favorite comfort food and B. will turn them into kidney-healthy delights.
B. will select one recipe for each meal of the day—breakfast, lunch and dinner—to receive a makeover. The winners will be sent a copy of B. Smith Cooks Southern-Style, and the new recipes will be published on NKF’s website, kidney.org, along with a video of B. with her husband and business partner, Dan Gasby, preparing the kidney-friendly recipes.
HEALTHY EATING CAN HELP PREVENT KIDNEY DISEASE, DIABETES & HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
" Regular physical activity and diets low in sugar and fat can make a big difference. And the best part is that you don’t have to sacrifice taste either. With a few tweaks and substitutions, you can enjoy a healthier version of the same foods."
- B.Smith
To enter the B. HEALTHY RECIPE MAKEOVER CONTEST, submit your recipes by 1/17/12 to: MENUMAKEOVER@KIDNEY.ORG
